Ridgefield, Conn. – March 4, 2013 – K&R Negotiations congratulates all of the winners of this year’s Junior Achievement awards, especially Drew Lord of St. Luke’s High School and Jack Ferrone of Stamford High School, who received the highest honors as Outstanding Young Businessmen, one of several award categories of the Junior Achievement of Southwest Connecticut’s JA Company Program.
Open to all Connecticut high school students, the program required students from neighboring high schools to form a company, select officers, sell stock, develop a product, then market and sell the product over a 12-week period (mid-September to mid-December, 2012). At the end of the 12-week period, any profits are liquidated and returned as a profit to the shareholders. They accomplish all of this under the guidance of volunteers from sponsoring organizations, which included Affinion Group, Ernst & Young LLP, GE Capital Americas, KPMG LLP, Pitney Bowes Inc., Northwestern Mutual and UBS Investment Bank.
Lord and Ferrone were among the winners honored during a Feb. 7 banquet, during which they received a $1,500 prize sponsored by K&R Negotiations.
“K&R Negotiations feels a responsibility to nurture business talent in our region,” says Mladen Kresic, CEO of K&R Negotiations, who attended the banquet and presented the award to both winners. “Sponsoring this contest and meeting these dedicated young businessmen as well as all of the capable business men and women of Junior Achievement is a particularly enjoyable way to honor that obligation.”
